Dani Clark, MA in Art Education from University of Cincinnati, Narrative Medicine Certification from Columbia University 2022  has received training in patient story collection through the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs initiatives, My Life, My Story and Take 15! As a member of a Narrative Medicine Network at the University of Cincinnati, she investigates the relationship between arts and medicine. In this role, she uses arts-based inquiry methods in projects that include designing a therapeutic AI-app that offers poetry and reflective writing opportunities; facilitating Narrative Medicine workshops at Good Samaritan Hospital; and conducting research focus groups, crafting patient stories, and developing education materials for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital through her work at local writing
consultancy, Untold Content.

Her current work as an artist-educator equips healthcare providers, patients, and communities with art and literary skill to improve care and patient-provider communication; ultimately, paving the way for more arts integration within medicine that supports co-constructed, collaborative care. Through interdisciplinary research and community collaborations, she aims to cultivate critical compassion within her community and larger public health systems.
